Summertime

Although I find life generally incompatible with the humidity in the northeast, I do love summer because of the rainbow of plants that thrive in the midsummer heat. Between the pinkish purple of the coneflowers and the bright orange yellow of black eyed Susan’s, its hard to deny Summer’s beauty. Probably my most favorite of all is the unassuming hydrangea. Their thick woody stems are topped with the most beautiful shades of pink, purple, blue, white, and pale green. Mine are all on the pink/blue/purple spectrum of colors. I can’t help but anticipate their beauty in the dark days of winter.
